Film maker Roman Polanski has blasted modern-day Hollywood techniques, claiming studios ruin movies by giving away too much in the trailer. The Chinatown director claims studio bosses over-market movies in a bid to lure cinema-goers; and destroy the mystery of film in the process. He tells TV show Shootout, "Trailers now sell the whole film. There's no point going to see the film. Marketing goes before the art. There's no mystery, no surprise any more."
